The Mets poached Johnny Washington from Atlanta, leaving Braves fans wondering why the team kept a struggling hitting coach while losing a promising one.

The 2026 season for Georgia Tech is looking much different than the optimistic start fans expected. After a promising run near the College Football Playoff last year, the Yellow Jackets are stuck at 1-3. They have only managed to beat Mercer so far this year. Now, a 3:30 PM kickoff at home against Duke is on the horizon for Week 6. Per Sports Illustrated, the TV slot for this matchup will be on either ESPN2 or the ACC Network.

Fixing the Defensive Leaks

The defense is currently a massive problem. In their recent loss to Stanford, the unit surrendered 396 passing yards and three touchdowns. You can’t win games when you let teams move through the air that easily. The coaching staff is also dealing with a heavy dose of injuries. Brent Key isn’t sugarcoating the situation for his players. After the recent game, Key said that everyone, including himself, has to be able to look themselves in the mirror and be accountable for everything they do.

The Path to a Win

The offense has to find a way to stay consistent. They had a decent first half against Stanford, but they only managed one touchdown in the second half. To beat Duke, the Jackets have to stop the run. Specifically, they need to slow down Blue Devils star running back Nate Sheppard. If the offense can avoid those long scoring droughts, they have a real shot at an upset. The talent is there, but the execution hasn’t been steady.

A Chance for Redemption

This game is a huge opportunity to fix a bad trend. Georgia Tech won this matchup 27-18 in Durham last year, but the rosters have changed.
