Bijan Robinson Proves He Is The NFL’s Top Back After GB Beatdown

Date:

Bijan Robinson did not just have a good game; he took over the field in a way that demands immediate respect. The Falcons running back earned NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors after tearing apart the Green Bay Packers defense. This was not luck. It was a masterclass in running that left the league with no choice but to recognize his dominance. Yahoo Sports reported the award came after a 35-14 victory where Robinson was the main reason for the score.

The Numbers That Speak Loudest

Robinson finished with 194 rushing yards and two touchdowns on the night. He also added 19 yards on two catches, bringing his total scrimmage yards to a massive number. The stats show a clear pattern of elite production. Currently holding 349 yards for the season, he trails Kenneth Walker III of the Kansas City Chiefs by a narrow margin. Only Walker has more yards on the ground as we head into Week 4. Robinson also became the only teammate to join wide receiver Drake London in totaling 190+ scrimmage yards in a single game since the 1976 Rams. This is a rare feat that highlights how dangerous the Falcons offense has become.

Robinson has secured this award for the third time in his career, having previously claimed it during Week 6 and Week 17 of the 2025 season. The consistency is what separates him from the pack. He is not a one-week wonder. He is the engine that drives this entire team forward.

Rankings and Real Respect

While the stats prove his skill on the field, the league has also voted on his status among the best. Robinson was voted Player No. 7 on the 2026 NFL Top 100 Players list. Per Chiefs Wire, Robinson reacted to this ranking by noting that the number 7 tied perfectly into a new SONIC campaign. Consequently, this aligns (into SONIC) even more flawlessly, which I find truly exciting.

He also noted the personal significance of wearing number 7 for the first time in the NFL after growing up with number 5. “It definitely means something, and then with the 7, it was my first time wearing number 7 in the NFL, and I’ve grown up wearing number 5 my whole life,” he told reporters. But he did not let the praise go to his head. He knows the work is far from done.

Next Stop: The Saints

With the New Orleans Saints coming up in Week 4, Robinson has a chance to make former teammate Kaden Elliss regret leaving Atlanta. Blogging Dirty points out that the Saints are 1-2 and rank near the bottom in run defense. Opponents are conceding the sixth-highest rushing yardage per game and were recently severely exploited by Jahmyr Gibbs. If an elite back like Gibbs can run wild against them, Robinson can go crazy. He is averaging over five yards per touch and has no trouble finding holes in the line. The Falcons will continue relying on their All-Pro running back until everything collapses, with Monday Night Football serving as his genuine revenue source.

Robinson has gone over 200 scrimmage yards in two Monday Night Football games in 2025, including an 80+ yard rushing touchdown in both. The Saints do not have the pass rush to stop him, and their run stuffers are hurt.
